Blog Post #8
Hey everyone! Wow, it's been a while. But I have still been out there making strides with my autism.
Not to be a stereotype, but a huge update I need to give is that I am divorced.
Don't be concerned. I have worked through the roughest emotions thanks to some great friends and family.
I like to make divorce dark humor jokes now, so watch out.

My dark humor announcement on my author insta lmao
I've found that it's easier to be open with strangers (that have good vibes) than people I've already known about my autism. Strangers can't have rebuttals.
I have, for some reason (it's because he's a hippie, like to a T: old soul, pothead, no fashion sense), been really open with a new friend about my autism.
It is really, *really* helping with my unmasking. I find it easier to explain things in a way a neurotypical might better understand and also like therapeutically pulling it from my subconscious.
[Total side note, do you have a way you visualize your memories? if so, what?]

Here's some of our conversation from yesterday:
Me: So I think one of the first subtle autism signs for me was that "lefty loosey, righty tighty" doesn't work for me.
Hippie: What?
Gorgeous: Everyone else looks at the top of the key; I look at the bottom.
Handsome (🤭): Oooh, okay.

Me: And people are like "so now that you know that, why don't you just memorize it like everyone else?" And I'm just like *gestures wildly* you think I HAVEN'T TRIED? NO, I LIKE PLAYING LIFE ON NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY! [I miss AvP (2010) 😭]
*We both proceed to laugh our asses off*
Hope you all are doing well :)
Stay awesome,
